Infrastructure Reviews
TWM Associates, Inc. (TWM) approaches infrastructure reviews from a governance perspective that focuses on the importance of strong information technology (IT) controls to an organization’s overall IT infrastructure.
TWM begins infrastructure reviews by reviewing controls that address the physical entity; the server and network hardware; equipment used to interconnect computers, users, routers, firewalls; and other devices that control transmission paths. TWM also reviews the software used to send, receive, and manage the signals that are transmitted by the systems.
Depending on the scoping of the infrastructure review, this can extend to people and processes surrounding the identified infrastructure. An infrastructure review is sometimes thought to be equivalent to a general controls review, but is much more extensive in terms of the physical controls and network device review.
